About Odd duck
DFW Web Design & Development
When it comes to websites, I’ve done a little bit of everything over the years. I have a great deal of experience in
- Web Design
- Web Development
- Web Hosting
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- Writing Web Content
- Website Maintenance
Would you believe I used to be a technophobe? I was! I took a class back in the days of DOS and was afraid to do anything for fear I would break something. Trust me, I’ve totally been in your shoes!
My goal is to make getting a new website, redesigning a site, or refreshing website content as painless as possible. You don’t have time to learn a new career. After all, this is something they teach in college! You need a professional that gives consistent communication and can answer your questions without talking down to you.

Odd Duck Web Design & Development is owned and operated by Janice Schwarz, a Fort Worth, Texas professional with over 25 years as a web designer and developer, and over 30 years in the Internet industry.

Web Design & Development Process
When it’s time to start, I’m going to have questions for you. I can’t achieve your vision if I’m operating in a vacuum. So we will need to discuss what pages to have and how many pages there will be.
If I need to write content for you, I will be asking you questions about your business, yourself, and your products and/or services. I’m not going to post any written content to your website without your approval. The same goes for imagery: I will want your feedback before adding any images as I want to make sure you are comfortable with the images I found and that they accurately represent you and your business.
If you already have this information ready to go for me, then great! I will take your content and any details you have for me and get to work.
Rather than make tedious, static mockups that don’t give a clear vision of what a client is getting, I prefer to do rapid prototyping/design and develop on the fly. This way, you have a better feel for what the finished product will look and act like.
You will get regular, consistent status updates from me. I will continue to ask questions as I work on the website. I would rather ask you questions than make inaccurate assumptions about your business or what you want. This is a collaborative effort and I want a website created that reflects you and your organization!
